Sourcing Manager
Olympic Fruit B.V. is a specialist in the import, export and distribution of fruit. With a focus on grapes and citrus, we are able to bind a careful selection of growers all over the world to our company. By working closely with these suppliers, we take care of the cultivation programme, the packaging and the logistics for our customers close to the source. In addition, we have 2 in-house cultivation projects in our portfolio that are managed from the Netherlands. This is how we have successfully served the European fruit market for many years.
To expand our team, we are looking for a:
Sourcing Manager
You get energy from contact with partners, suppliers and colleagues. You have the drive to achieve the jointly set goals together with the team. You keep your head cool in a dynamic and quickly changing environment and you have a resilient, strategic and analytical mind.
What you will be doing
As a Sourcing Manager at our company, you will play a central part in the procurement process, particularly focusing on one of our main productlines: grapes, citrus, soft fruit or stone fruit. Your journey with us involves developing expertise in one of these core product categories.
Central to your responsibilities is the establishment and nurturing of strong supplier relationships. This entails regular visits to companies and participation in trade fairs to maintain fruitful connections. Your role extends beyond procurement; you're expected to actively engage with market analyses, contributing insights, and crafting purchasing strategies in response to evolving market dynamics. Serving as a product manager, you'll oversee the entire process from procurement to sales, ensuring seamless coordination across teams.
In essence, your role as a Sourcing Manager involves continuous adaptation to the dynamic market landscape, all while striving to bolster our company's position in the industry.
The department
Of course, you are not alone. Our sourcing team now consists of 6 employees. Together they have the common goal to further expand the specialism in grapes, citrus, soft fruit and stone fruit. Within Olympic Fruit there is an open and dynamic atmosphere. From day one, you will be included in an environment where collaboration and growth are key.
What do you bring?
- Preferably commercial work experience in the AGF sector. Knowledge of one of our specialisms in fruit is a plus;
- You are communicatively strong and have a good command of the Dutch and English languages; Spanish is an advantage.
